How To Make a Streamer Backdrop?
1.First measure the wall where you desire to hang your streamer backdrop. Cut the tablecloth according to the length and width of the wall. The measurement of my backdrop is 7ft and 10 inches wide and 5ft and 10 inches high. After you cut the tablecloth, tape it to the wall using double-sided tape
1A.Side Note: I choose to use a tablecloth as my backdrop instead of a wall because it will allow the color of the streamers to pop and there will be no white wall peeking through the backdrop.
2.Before you begin, plan out where you want to design the streamers on the tablecloth. Mark off four sections on the tablecloth using small pieces of tape. Use the tape as a guide on where to start the next color of streamers to create an ombre design.
2A. Next, cut your streamers 2.5 ft long and attach several streamers to the scotch tape. Then, tape the streamers to the wall. Start at the bottom and work your way up. Apply 3 rows of each color of crepe paper to the wall.
3.Once the first batch of streamers is attached to the wall, add the metallic fringe curtain to the backdrop. Whether you add it to the middle or the side of the backdrop, apply a layer of fringe above each section of colored crepe paper streamers. Make sure to add two layers of fringe curtain streamers to make the streamers stand out.
3A. After your finish, this step, apply the next color of streamers and fringe curtain. Repeat this step 3x. When you get to the top of the backdrop, apply double-sided tape to the top of the tablecloth. Stick the last row of crepe paper streamers to the double-sided tape. Double-sided tape will give the top of your backdrop a clean finish.
How to Layer A Crepe Paper Backdrop
4.Trim the crepe streamers diagonally in a layered design to showcase the metallic fringe curtains. First, cut the hot pink metallic fringe curtains in a triangle shape. Second, trim the metallic fringe curtains in a staggered design to create an upside-down triangle shape. Repeat the same step for the purple streamers.
4A. Finally, cut the light pink crepe streamers diagonally in a downward direction. Then trim the pink fringe curtain metallic fringe curtains in an upward direction.
5. Once you are done clipping the ends of the crepe paper backdrop, add in additional pieces of streamers with tape to make the backdrop full.
